How do you dress if you have a belly?

You have a small belly, like the vast majority of women. No question of hiding him at all costs or making him your number one enemy, but let’s take a look at the clothing options available to you to flatter your figure and, most importantly, to ensure you look your best body feel good.

If you want to shape your figure under a tight outfit, you have a choice of enveloping high-waisted briefs or shaping bodysuits.

If shapewear isn’t your thing, try high-waisted seamless panties. With their fine and silky fabric, they care without constricting the stomach. These panty models are not only comfortable, but also invisible under your clothes. No risk of visible seams under a tight-fitting skirt or dress.

Go for a high waist

Not only for the aesthetic side, but also and above all for the comfort. The low waist, whether you have a tummy or not, is not particularly comfortable to wear.

Which trousers with belly? Palazzo pants for their flowy look and high waist.

What skirt to wear if you have a belly? We shop midi skirts and high-waisted wrap skirts that hug without digging into the stomach.

Don’t drown in clothes that are too big

It’s a common mistake we all make. Going up a few sizes in a sweater or top gives the impression of hiding your tummy while in fact accentuating your proportions. Instead, we prefer tops with a straight cut, but in our size.

Except, of course, for those who want to create a deliberately oversized look. In this case, for example, you can wear a loose shirt with trousers (always high-waisted) with a cigarette cut to balance the volumes.

Which dress to wear?

The dress is just as indispensable in the wardrobe as jeans. We draw it for all occasions, from the most casual to the most festive. And that’s why it’s important to find the right candidate, well-tailored and comfortable.

The trapeze cut, with its flared shape at the buttocks, is a good clothing option if you have a tummy. In the same logic, the babydoll dress, which has been in force again for a few seasons, is also suitable if you want to attract attention elsewhere than on your stomach. Other variants: the straight-cut mini dress, the flowing wrap dress or the long, straight dress with a V-neckline.

In terms of color, as I said, we allow ourselves everything that makes us happy, black, coloured, nude, brown… On the printed side, the more the volumes are emphasized, the more they are loaded. We prefer the small floral pattern to the large one, as does the polka dot print, which we prefer to be minimalistic rather than XXL.

Getting dressed when you have a belly means, above all, being comfortable and showing off in your clothes. There really are no morpho rules that can apply to all women as a whole. Everyone has to dare new combinations in order to compose their own style in which they simply feel good.
